Tampa Bay Chamber: Website Redesign
The Tampa Bay Chamber was looking for a complete website refresh. The main goals for the site were to appeal to it’s membership base, provide great user experience, and present a lot of dynamic content. Features of the new site were to include:
Featured Virtual and in-person events
Robust member portal
Searchable membership directory
Seamless event registrations
MY ROLES: UX Design, UI Design
Wireframing
Unfortunately I do not have screenshots of my wireframing process for this project. I used Adobe XD for wireframing and feedback, then I built on them over time by iterating the design until the finished product. Because this project was a complete redesign of the site, a lot of initial work was done to determine the navigation and key pages that needed to be designed. I developed wireframes and prototypes for the following:
Homepage
Interior Style Guide, which included buttons, headings, and all other text formatting options
Component library to be used to build interior pages
All listers on the site (events, news, and member directory)
Member Dashboard
Mobile Views for each of the above, including the mobile menu look-and-feel
Prototyping
Here are some of the key pages I designed for this customer. All content and images are still placeholders at this stage of the project. The customer will be responsible for entering all text and imagery into the site after it has been developed.
Homepage
Member Dashboard
The membership dashboard is the landing page for when a user logs into their account on the website. On this page, users can access links to update their account info, make payments, view benefits, and submit information onto the website (like job postings or events). From this page members can also access other password restricted pages within the sidebar menu. The use of cards to contain all these important links really helps to organize a lot of information and makes it easier to find what you may be looking for.
Membership Directory
A membership directory was needed to display their member database and give information to other members. Phase two of this implementation will include member benefits, including the ability for members to upload video content, social media links, and advertise promos offered to other Chamber members.
Retrospective
This website is still under development, and in the next phase of the project I will audit each page as they are completed to make sure the final product is true to the design. Without a dedicated content strategist, it will be very important for me to keep an eye on the next phase of the project to ensure the integrity of the design. This could also shed light on potential new components needed for the content to really shine on the site.
A mobile app is also included in this project.
